Poetry by Alexander A. Henning
"These poems are my interpretations of the suffering I've endured—fragments of pain I've woven into something the world would call 'art'. They tell tales of some of the darkest moments of my life; the bleeding of invisible wounds, the emptiness when I lost my sense of self, and the unspeakable pain of heartbreak when all I wanted was to feel loved and be held."
Poetry by Hales Rose - Hales is a queer writer based in St.Louis, Missouri, and has faced mental health challenges throughout her life. She is passionate about mental health awareness, social justice and advocacy, and using creativity to drive lasting change. Poetry by John Moody - John is a 72-year-old living in Recovery; sober for 18 years. In recent years he has engaged with writing as one of his significant wellness tools, with recent poems exploring some of the visceral aspects of mental illness.
Poetry by Kat Davis -"I’ve been writing poetry since I was a little girl because it’s healing for me. I have been through many times of my life where I felt like I couldn't talk to anyone. So I would write down my feelings. I love to write, podcast, and use words to create content to help myself and other people. Life can be so hard, and I always want to be the proof for myself. and other people. that you can make it through anything."
Poetry by Isabelle P. Byrne - Isabelle's first poetry collection was about her mental health journey; through diagnosis, hospitalisation, Electro-Convulsive Therapy, and navigating a ruined identity in recovery. Poetry by Jake Jones - Jake's poetry focuses on isolation, repetition, fixation, and blurred realities, creating a nuanced portrayal of mental instability and capturing the fragility of the human psyche.
Poetry by Mark Erwin - Based in Northern Ireland, Mark suffers from depression and Generalised Anxiety Disorder. After a suicide attempt at age 21, Mark began to journal his recovery, from that habit, emerged poetry. Mark self-published his first collection: ‘poems that sometimes rhyme’ when he was 24. He uses poetry to process these feelings, often adding a light-hearted tone to his words. With depression and anxiety, it is easy to focus on the bad, but Mark uses his writing to see the bright side of what he’s went through.
